8-digit telephone number begun in Yiwu on May 19

Since May 19，2007 the fixed line telephone( including PAS) numbers have risen to 8 digits in Jinhua city and counties ( cities of county level) under its jurisdiction . You only have to add “8 ” before the former 7-digit telephone numbers without any change for the former special service numbers or short numbers . After May 19 the 7-digit telephone numbers would be out of service with one month’s record b roadcast in the local network (May 19 ，2007-June 18 ，2007) ; the long distance
domestic telephones with 7 or 8 digits will be sti ll in service for 2 months (May 19，2007-July 18，2007) ; after the
two months the record service will be broadcast for 3 months ( July 1 9-October 18，2007) . The record broadcast about the number rise will be free of charge for both local and out land customers .
